The local markets of La Teste de Buch, a must for local tourists!

If you love wandering around markets on holiday, you’re in for a treat. Immerse yourself in a friendly atmosphere, surrounded by local products and crafts from the markets of La Teste de Buch, Pyla sur Mer and Cazaux.

La Teste de Buch: local markets every day in season

Not just for food, the markets in La Teste de Buch, Pyla sur Mer and Cazaux are a great way to start the day. Local produce for your beach picnic? Local specialities for a snack? Handcrafted souvenirs for your loved ones? And the icing on the cake: blend in with the crowd, I promise you, the Testerins are friendly and talkative!

The La Teste de Buch market is one of the biggest in the Bay of Arcachon!

This is the must-visit market in the Arcachon basin during your holidays! If you have to visit only one (how chauvinistic are we?), it’s La Teste de Buch. In Rue des Halles, in the heart of the Testerin town centre, more than 100 traders welcome you under the covered market and in the open air (up to 225 stalls in the summer season). You’ve come to the right place for good smells, fresh produce, organic products, textiles and leather goods.

Tuesday to Saturday 8am to 1.30pm and Sunday 7.30am to 2pm

(and every day from 7.30am to 2pm during the summer months!)

The Pyla market: a breath of summer air

In the heart of the seaside resort, a stone’s throw from the beach, the Pyla sur Mer market is open every Friday in July and August. Its twenty or so local producers and designers will be setting up shop in the Place Daniel Meller. On the programme: local produce and know-how!

Every Friday during the summer from 9am to 1pm

The Cazaux market, brand new and beautiful!

Located on Place du Général de Gaulle, in the heart of the Cazaux district, the brand new Cazaline market hall was built from Gironde maritime pine. We couldn’t have imagined a more local setting for this friendly venue! With its 225 m² of stalls, this is a replica of the first market in La Teste de Buch, with a good twenty traders (butcher, fishmonger, greengrocer, cheesemonger, dressmaker, etc.).

Every Tuesday from 8.30am to 1pm

Shopping at the market, an eco-responsible gesture

Sometimes you might think “there are no more seasons, my grandmother was right, we wonder if it’s too late and what we can do on a daily basis…” as in the song by Gauvain Sers.

Buying in season remains an essential gesture for the planet. Favouring fresh produce on our market stalls means combining business with pleasure. It’s a way of saying goodbye to over-consumption and going for what’s local and (really) good!
