The town of La Teste-de-Buch, is, by size, one of the largest in France : 26 000 ha located between forest, sea, The lac de Cazaux, Dune du Pilat, Arcachon Bay and the city.
Its territory comes from the old “captalats du Pays de Buch”. Beside, the city of Arcachon was built on the La Teste de Buch territory before becoming independant. Nowadays The city of La Teste de Buch is composed of 3 neighboorhoods :
